HELLO!  I’m Tanya, I am happy you are here! If you are new here, welcome to my space all things diosa aka goddess. I am also new here.

I started my blog this month and I am sharing bits of my personal story that led me here. Check out my first post on the start of my new beginning

I also talked about 6 Things to Do in a New Chapter of Life this month. You can  read it

HERE

Alright so for the ones following along, I am in a new chapter, and in these times of change, it is not always easy to just go with it, but I am here for it!

Let’s get started and talk about some of the new habits I have incorporated into my new morning routine.

1. Rise and Shine

Wake up Early: Yes, you read that right and  I am also not the best at this but when I do choose to wake up earlier, I notice a difference!

Now set your alarm clock for a consistent time each morning, giving yourself at least 30 minutes to an hour before the rest of the household stirs. This peaceful time is essential for your morning routine.

I also want to suggest when the alarm goes off, don’t press snooze, get up and put your phone down. Do not go into old habits of five more minutes or start to scroll on social or check e-mails. This is the old version of you, let it go!

I am also working on this and I tell myself, to choose again, don’t go back to old habits and that seems to do the trick.

2. Make your Bed

It may not seem like an important step in the morning but let me tell you how it helps. One it will remove the thoughts of wanting to stay in bed longer and get your day started. Second, it helps with visually getting your bed in order and stimulates your mind to motivate you and get yourself ready. I personally have always made my bed in the morning but I know it could be challenging on difficult days, Try this out and see how it makes you feel.

3. Mindfulness & Gratitude

Once I have my bed made I either sit on it or go to the end of the bed where the bench is and sit to listen to a meditation for 5-20 minutes, It honestly depends or I choose to write in my journal three things that I am grateful for. I also find that sitting or lying down in a quiet spot and focusing on breath work is also relaxing and helps to clear the mind and not let any negative feelings enter your positive space.

4. Move your Body

This is such a good one, if you already do this, you’re amazing! I do enjoy moving my body whether it is going outside for a walk, or a home workout out of yoga, peloton, or home gym. Doing it for 15 minutes or more will definitely boost your energy levels and improve your mood. If you can’t get it in the morning try in the afternoon maybe on your lunch break or when the little ones take a nap. Whatever that time is in the day or night take it and see how you feel after moving your body.

5. Drink Water

I know this one may not be everyone’s favorite but drinking water is so important no matter where you are in life. I want to encourage you to drink water in the morning, right before you drink that cup of coffee or tea. Start hydrating from the time you get up to the time you get in bed in the evening. I have been leaving a glass of water on my nightstand at night and also in the morning when I am up and it feels good before I drink that cup of coffee.

6. Nourish your Body

A healthy breakfast that is more than just coffee hot or cold. Add some nutrition that fuels your body. Add some protein, whole grains, fruits or veggies. I have been preparing overnight oats and that is what I am currently eating and loving! These are so easy to make, let me know if you would like me to share a recipe on the next post. If I am not eating overnight oats, I usually go for avocado toast or some hard boiled eggs. I am cutting the sugary foods and rushed meals like fast food places.

7. Plan your Day

Set Priorities, create a to-do list for the day. Prioritize tasks, both work-related and family-related. Knowing what needs to be done and having a plan in place reduces stress and increases productivity. Next, connect with your family for those who are there with you, a quick hug, a chat over breakfast or in the car headed to drop off, or a few words of encouragement to your loved ones on a text. These small moments make a difference for you and your family members and the tone of day.

8. Get ready for Work- At Home or Away

Dress for Success: Even if you work from home, change into comfortable yet presentable clothes. This helps you mentally transition from “home mode” to “work mode.”

Set Up Your Workspace: Create a designated workspace where you can focus on your tasks. Ensure you have all the necessary tools and materials ready.

Time Block: Allocate specific time blocks for work and family responsibilities. Set boundaries to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Prep for Interruptions: If you have young children at home, set up activities to keep them engaged during your work hours. Have snacks and essentials within easy reach.

9. Bonus One

Remember Self-Care: Amidst your busy schedule, don’t forget to take short breaks for self-care. Even a 5-minute break to stretch, sip some water, or practice deep breathing can rejuvenate you.

Starting your day with this morning routine will help you, as a working mom work-at-home mom, or every girl or woman building her empire, find the balance, boost productivity, and maintain a positive mindset throughout your busy day. Adjust the routine to suit your specific needs and responsibilities, and remember that consistency is key to making it a lasting habit.

With Love,

Tanya
